The Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis was celebrated in Italy

On the occasion of December 31 – Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis and the New Year, a festive event was held under the organization of the embassies of Azerbaijan in Italy and the Holy See. Our compatriots living, studying and working in Italy participated in the event.

The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Italy, Rashad Aslanov, noted that the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis is one of the most important days for our country and people. He emphasized that the people of Azerbaijan celebrate this day with great enthusiasm, unlike previous years - as representatives of a country that has fully restored its sovereignty over all its territories.

The ambassador said that in the year we were leaving, our nation celebrated the 100^th anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and 2023 is the "Year of Heydar Aliyev" in our country.

Rashad Aslanov spoke about the tireless activity of the National Leader, his enormous services in protecting the statehood and independence of Azerbaijan. It was emphasized that the Great Leader, who played a great role in the history of our country's independence, will always be remembered by the people of Azerbaijan and his dear memory will be kept with deep respect.

The diplomat also talked about Azerbaijan-Italy relations, which are dynamically developing and rising to the level of strategic partnership, the importance of mutual visits of the heads of both countries, and the development prospects of partnership covering various fields.

Chinara Shirin, our compatriot who lives in Milan, Italy, performed a concert program at the event and presented Azerbaijani and Italian songs.
